  • Salary $85,790 - $95,413 p.a. (Pro Rata) ASO5 | Part-time, 30 h/pw, Term up to 12 months.

Responsibilities:

The Fire Safety and Emergency Officer is responsible for contributing to disaster resilience through the effective co-ordination and management of fire safety and emergency response training and exercises at all SALHN sites. The position is responsible for the Noarlunga Hospital and associated satellite sites and services, but may be required to support equivalent activities across other SALHN sites.

The incumbent is required to:

  • Develop, implement and conduct relevant fire safety, security, evacuation, and emergency response training for all SALHN sites and staff.
  • Ensure that the organisation has in place a range of fire safety and security policies and procedures that enables it to meet current legislative and compliance requirements such as relevant Australian codes and accreditation programs, and Australian Standards including AS 4083 and AS 3745.
  • Assist with the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCP) for SALHN services including the completion of Business Impact Assessments (BIA) and the identification of Critical Business Functions (CBF).
  • Conduct routine fire safety inspections and audits of all SALHN facilities, making recommendations and issuing corrective actions for any non-compliant items identified.
  • Undertake a range of associated administrative duties that contribute to the effective management, development and delivery of fire safety, security and emergency response services, including maintenance and administration of training and exercise records.
