• Administer and manage next-generation firewalls.
• Assist in reviewing and implementing firewall requests from cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to the maturity improvement of firewall governance and orchestration solutions.
• Audit and maintain documentation of current firewall policies, performing rule clean-up and optimization periodically.
• Participate in troubleshooting and provide root cause analysis for major incidents.
• Engage in real-time network security event monitoring and response.
• Support Incident Response (IR) investigations and identify actionable indicators of compromise.
• Research and analyze events to determine classification, correlation, and root cause.
• Identify emerging threat tactics and publish actionable threat intelligence.
• Ensure compliance with all security policies and standards.
• Provide advanced support for Network Security platforms and liaise with application vendor support.
• Manage future security solutions acquisitions and support service tickets related to network security technologies.

Firewall & Network Security Specialist – Mandatory Skills

• Post-secondary technical degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in Cyber Security.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, OCSP, CCIE-Security.
• Extensive knowledge of Next Gen Firewalls, Firewall Governance and Orchestration, DNS Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
• Experience with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and/or Ontario Cybersecurity Framework.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Strong influencing, negotiating, and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

Firewall & Network Security Specialist – Preferred Skills

• Utility experience is an asset.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
