We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Developer with proven experience in software engineering processes and structures, and strong capabilities in embedded firmware creation for a short-term (6-month) contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing firmware solutions for a variety of embedded systems, working with our existing team, and taking the lead on the core part of our portfolio buildout. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware-software integration and a passion for innovative problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

In addition to the above, you’ll focus on the following:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of firmware for embedded systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the internal development team to integrate firmware with hardware components, and conduct thorough testing to ensure system functionality and stability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for firmware designs, development processes, and testing procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to firmware functionality, performance, and integration.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality embedded solutions.

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software engineering processes and structures, with a focus on embedded firmware development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and hardware-software interaction.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level device drivers.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
  • Knowledge of debugging and testing tools for embedded systems.
