Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) / Space Mission Systems (SMS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Level Space Platform Program Manager to join our Common Products team in El Segundo, California.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• More than 3 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)
• More than 3 years of experience in program or project management.
• More than 3 years of experience in Satellite or Space Programs.
• Experience in oversight of budget, development of quarterly EAC, program health metrics, earned value, and management of program critical path.
• Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management (EVM).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Master of Science Degree in a Technical Field.

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.)

• Manages employees performing business management activities in the area of Program Management.
• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
• Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan.
