Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join the Auburn Regulated Material Distribution (RMD) business unit in Frederickson (Puyallup) and Auburn, Washington.
As a member of the leadership team, you will continuously manage and develop Tooling Manufacturing Teams. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to embrace and elevate a One Boeing Production System (BPS) culture, driving a deep understanding of the One BPS principles, standards, production health and problem solving model.
The candidate will have a positive attitude, be a team player, and maintain positive, strong relationships with customers and peers. Quality and safety initiatives will require the successful candidate to be fully engaged in a foreign object debris-free and clean as you go mindset and an incident and injury free commitment to safety.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role.
  • 1+ years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 1+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding and leading team
  • 1+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems and/or One Boeing Production System (One BPS)
  • 1+ years of experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and all levels of leadership

SUMMARY PAY RANGE: $115,900-$134,200

Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple Tooling Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Executes a Go4Zero strategy; develops and executes business plans; develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires staffing resources and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, leaders, peers, and direct reports; provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes;
  • Drives the implementation of One BPS within the department.
  • Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.
  • Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
  • Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Ensures work statement is completed in a safe manner, with the highest level of quality on schedule and budget.
  • Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers, and senior leaders.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project or process.
  • Engages and empowers employees to make process improvements through innovation.
  • Leads lean initiative implementation and Tooling rate readiness projects to support on time deliveries.
