Northcott’s Early Childhood team in Coffs Harbour offers a full-time position until 30 June 2025, with the possibility of an extension. THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE ARE:
- Being an Australian First Nations person is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under the Anti-Discrimination Act section 14D.
- Experience engaging with First Nations people to understand what their needs are and experience providing support to First Nations families.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones for children aged 0-9 years
- Knowledge of and connection with local First Nations communities.
- A strong understanding of typical childhood development and the impact of disability and developmental delay on a First Nations child and their family.
- Experience in connecting and building working relationships with local community and mainstream services.
- Ability to promote a culturally safe work environment.
- Knowledge of the Child Protection Legislation and the principles of Keep Them Safe.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS TO WORK AT NORTHCOTT INCLUDE:
- Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood or Allied Health profession.
- A reference from an Aboriginal Organisation, Corporation or Community Elders Group.
- Confirmation of Aboriginality with common seal.
- Current Driver’s Licence - P1 minimum.
- Valid Working with Children’s Check Clearance – mandatory.
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain – mandatory.
- Working Rights in Australia for Full-Time Employment.
- Successful pre-employment probity check.
