DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician, you will be primarily responsible for performing advanced bookkeeping duties in recording, reviewing, processing, and controlling financial documentation. This work involves the examination of a variety of financial records and documents for propriety, quality, and conformance to established accounting procedures and maintenance of difficult bookkeeping systems. You will provide the fiscal knowledge and support necessary to efficiently and effectively meet the fiscal goals of the department and the population served.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
