DESCRIPTION

Creating Opportunities for Physical Activity (COPA) is a physical activity and nutrition initiative in seven K-5 elementary schools. COPA works to build a culture of daily physical activity and healthy eating on school campuses and in the surrounding community using a peer coach model. The peer coach model differs from direct service in that all activities are conducted with the focus on training others how to perform the functions to ensure long term sustainability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coursework/Training At least one year of college.
  • 1 year Experience working with groups of children.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience working in elementary school setting and after school setting.
  • Experience participating in nutrition and physical activity campaigns, education, and programming.
