We are now looking for a Fitter/ Mechanic to join Minesto in our mission to build a global company that contributes to a sustainable future by providing renewable electricity generation from the ocean. You will take on a key role in creating a new industry sector based on a unique technology - a both rare and challenging opportunity.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections, repairs and replacements on components and systems
• Assemble kite systems and associated support infrastructure
• Assist in installation, operation, recovery, and maintenance of tidal kite systems
• Ensure the supply of spare parts is maintained fit for purpose and readily available

As a Fitter/Mechanic, you will be expected to participate in all operational activities conducted by Minesto on the Faroe Islands, working with other branches of the company to develop good work practices and operations.
Business travel to Gothenburg will be required occasionally, primarily to familiarize yourself with our kite systems and meet fellow colleagues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for two individuals, to execute fitter/mechanic activities.
We will expect you to be involved to further develop best practice and procedures to best support the site activities in a positive way with emphasis on Health & Safety.
The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives on problem solving and finding ways to continually improve.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with mechanical operations
• Strong problem-solving skills,
• Able to use tools and equipment for installation, maintenance, and repairs
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks
• Effective communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment
• 
  Minesto is an international company, and it is important that you have a confident level of English. This position is based in Vestmanna so the ability to converse in the native Faroese language is beneficial. You should have a car driving licence.
  The role is a full-time position based at Minesto’s site in Vestmanna, Faroe Islands.

THE ROLE

The position is based in Vestmanna, Faroe Islands and is a full-time, permanent position.
The role is part of Minesto’s operational unit on the Faroe Islands. This unit is responsible for all service and maintenance activities at site, including our tidal technology kite systems, with onshore and offshore support provided by contractors and personnel from other Minesto sites.
Full training will be provided for Minesto specific activities.
