Fixed Term Part-time Technicians

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking Part-time Technicians to join our Microbiology team based at our Auckland laboratory for 3-6 months on fixed term contracts for our busy Dairy Season. These roles are to assist in sample preparation and pre-work. You will gain invaluable experience for your technical career in a commercial microbiology laboratory. We will need you to be available for up to 20 hours per week, preferably working at least 1 weekend day.

Your key duties will involve;

• Completing sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
• Ensuring all relevant records are always kept up to date
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
• Participate and contribute to working safely

• Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activities

  Flexibility to work additional days or overtime would be ideal as our laboratory operates 7 days a week.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Be studying or have attained a Bachelor of Science, with a focus on Microbiology or Food Science.
• You can hit the ground running, so those with direct experience in Microbiology will be at an advantage.
• Previous work experience in a fast paced and high pressure environment will also be beneficial to your success in getting this role.
• Team player that can remain focused while doing repetitive tasks and cope with regularly changing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail coupled with fantastic time management skills will see you do well in the AsureQuality environment.
• Be available to start quickl
