Description:
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit;
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining both a Controlled Goods Clearance and a Government of Canada Level II security clearance;
- Experience as a multi-engine, fixed-wing pilot;
- Experience as a Qualified Flight Instructor or Instructor Pilot;
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Physically able to work in confined spaces such as flight training devices.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience as a Search & Rescue pilot;
- Familiar with Quality Standards, Training Plans and training media used to ensure Teaching Points are met per Training Standards;
- Experience with authoring and amending multi-media instructional courseware;
- Verbal French language skills suitable to instruct in French; and
- Airbus 295 aircraft experience.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Fixed-Wing Search & Rescue Instructor Pilot
CAE is seeking instructors to join the CAE team at 19 Wing Comox to train Canada’s next generation of Fixed-Wing Search & Rescue (FWSAR) aircrew. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Working independently and responding to a broad scope of customer requirements to achieve team goals;
- Effectively delivering academic presentations to customers;
- Conducting Servicing and Elementary Work training;
- Delivering pilot training programs incorporating academic / theory instruction and synthetic environments such as flight simulators and other ground-based training devices;
- Contributing to the development of courseware and teaching aids;
- Ensuring that training programs are consistent with training objectives and teaching points as specified in the applicable Training Plan and Quality Standard;
- Assessing, documenting and reporting student progress, issues and deficiencies relative to course delivery;
- Providing oral and written ACSO and AESOP Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the program and Training Centre team as required;
- Compiling student training progress and course debrief reports; and
- Occasional travel in support of CAE projects including overtime as required.
