Description:
Proactive Supply Chain Group is an energetic industry leading Transportation and Logistics provider. We believe our team of logistics professionals are the best in the business! Our team is comprised of heavy haul / project cargo experts from various industries such as project forwarding, rigging and specifically over the road transportation.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently.
- Completing ELD daily and in a timely manner.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting of problems.
- Complying with Proactive company policies as well as government regulations and rules.
- Securing cargo and dealing with hazardous materials safely, as needed.
- Communicating with dispatchers and other drivers using onboard radios or computers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip health and safety inspections and prepare reports to ensure fleet standards are maintained.
- Complete all the Health & Safety protocols.
- Ability to operate and follow the GPS tracking system.
- Keep an accurate record of cargo, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure all safety precautions are taken prior to leaving the loading dock Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with both internal and external customers.
- Follow dispatcher’s scheduled appointments and focus on “On-Time Pickup/Delivery”
- Communicate with dispatcher of any changes or delay to the scheduled appointments.
- Knowledge dealing with accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and trip reports
- Flatbed, rolltite, tilt and load trailers
- Securing Equipment and various Cargo by chains and straps
- Help in yard when required
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 + years of related experience
- Required to provide a 3 year letter of experience insurance form
- Ability to haul oversized/over length loads of approximately 100 feet.
