Job Description
The Fleet Bar and Restaurant Trainer for Mystic Cruises is a key role responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage service across our luxury cruise fleet. This position demands an experienced professional with a solid background in fine dining and bar service within the high-end hospitality sector. The trainer will design, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs to ensure all team members deliver an exceptional guest experience aligned with Mystic Cruises’ brand values.

GUEST EXPERIENCE ENHANCEMENT:

  • Train staff on the Mystic Cruises philosophy of personalized and exceptional service, emphasizing attention to detail and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement training modules focused on enhancing guest interactions, handling special requests, and resolving complaints.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in guest service.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field. Advanced certifications or training qualifications are a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior food and beverage role within a luxury hospitality environment, with a strong background in both bar and restaurant operations.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs within the hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience working on cruise ships or luxury yachts is highly desirable.

SKILLS:

  • Exceptional knowledge of food and beverage service standards, wine and spirits, and culinary terminology.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an engaging and understandable manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, staff certifications, and performance assessments.
  • Prepare and present training reports to senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage the training budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Develop SOPs for the restaurant and bar departments as necessary.
