At this point, Zelh is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Operator for one of our customers.
Fleet Maintenance Operators are the backbone of our operational efficiency and reliability. Dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of vehicle performance, our skilled team meticulously oversees routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs. Utilizing our comprehensive Fleet Management System (FMS), they track maintenance schedules, monitor vehicle health, and manage repair workflows seamlessly. By adhering to stringent safety protocols, they ensure our fleet remains in optimal condition, minimizing downtime and enhancing overall service delivery. Through their expertise and commitment, Spartan Carrier Group LLC consistently delivers dependable and safe transportation solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing Assets, Documents and Unit Specifications to include time of pick up and 3rd party equipment (Geotab/SmartDrive/Permit Book/LoadStop) in Fleetio – On a Daily Basis:
    o Example:
     Requesting New unit list from Penske/Metro trailer in add to Fleetio.

Managing all Toll Authorities to ensure asset configurations and accuracy.

  • Maintenance Scheduling to keep PM compliance up with Penske and Preferred Vendors.
  • Fuel Purchase Program:

o External: Billing and Reporting

o Internal: Reporting and Compliance

  • Following workflow through Fleetio – In Real Time:

o Examples below:
 Create an Issue to create the work order
 To close the work order.
 Changing the status of the work order and the assets in Fleetio.
Attaching invoice to close out work orders

Managing Accuracy of Asset Locations

  • Manage and Audit Assets for accuracy and operation in Fleetio, SkyBitz, Geotab, and SmartDrive on a weekly basis.

o Examples: Work with Telematics companies on any and all issues to keep database accurate and operating.

  • Daily updates on all assets in repair and updating through Fleetio and Daily Maintenance meeting.
  • Workflow for Pre/Post Trip Inspection Issues through Geotab and Fleetio
  • Validating Penske Invoices with Issues and Workorders and calculating the correct cost.
  • Breakdown Service:

o Examples:
Working with the driver to pinpoint the issues
Providing safest best-case solutions to keep the route moving.

Earning Trust and Respect from drivers through professional service (Treating drivers as our customers that they really are).

  • Helping Drivers with information on what to look for in Pre and Post Trip Inspections.
  • Ensure all Owner Operators/Carriers equipment has been in-service correctly with 3rd party tracking, correctly de-identified and re-identified (if required) before customer picks up assets.
  • Making sure all permit book documents are in one location and are up to date for drivers.
  • All Graphics: making sure assets are scheduled for graphics installation and making sure we are communicating with the correct departments.
  • After-Hours Communication needs to have a high sense of urgency for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring all the necessary departments and all workflow statuses are up to date.
  • Fostering good relationships with drivers daily before, during and after breakdowns.
  • Communicating with vendors/Penske/Metro on equipment. Building relationships and planning for service.
  • Understand route names and HOS to better understand the complexity of what our customers are facing to ensure our service is above par to complete tasks.
  • Foster Relationships with existing and new Service Providers, building on those relationships to ensure shortest lead time and best overall cost.
  • Holding ourselves as well as others Accountable when issues arise in a professional manner.

o Example: When driver abuse is obvious don’t hesitate to have a professional conversation with the driver on what company policy or FMCSA policy is.
