We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Mechanic to join our high performing team.
REPORTING TO: Plant Manager
LOCATION: Based in our Head Office in Newry, Co Down
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent, flexible hours available

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Plant Manager and Facilities & Office Manager to ensure that that the company fleet runs safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic systems components on fleet vehicles (cars and vans).
  • Work to reduce vehicle downtime, minimising impact on business operations.
  • Keep management aware of repair problems as they occur.
  • Dismantle, repair, or replace faults, e.g. brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions and any other repairs needed.
  • Keep up-to-date maintenance records and maintain operating logbooks and databases as required.
  • Ensure fleet vehicles are prepared and ready for statutory testing (MOT, NCT).
  • Maintain control of tools, manuals, repair parts, assemblies, and consumables.
  • Comply with applicable Safety, Environment, Health, and Waste Management policies and procedures.
  • Work alongside members of the SHEQ team and comply in times of internal inspections and audits.
  • Act in a mentoring capacity to any apprentices that are assigned to the department, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Inventory management and general housekeeping.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
