POSITION REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant marine discipline.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE – ESSENTIAL:
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, including ISM Code, SOLAS, Class Rules, and other applicable statutory legislation.
- Senior-level experience in ship management and vessel operations.
- Proven experience in budget management and financial oversight within a maritime context.
QUALIFICATIONS – DESIRABLE:
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Class 1 Chief Engineer CoC (or equivalent certification).
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE – DESIRABLE:
- Experience within the cruise industry.
- Academic background in Marine Technology or Naval Architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in leading maritime teams and driving operational improvements.

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
Carnival UK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Fleet Performance to oversee and drive the HESS (Health, Environment, Safety & Sustainability) and energy performance of our 11 vessels across the P&O Cruises and Cunard brands. This is a key leadership role responsible for enhancing fleet reliability, operational efficiency, and technical performance, with a particular focus on key metrics such as plant efficiency, EGCS usage, and HESS performance.
As the Senior Manager, Fleet Performance, you will act as the primary liaison with the onboard Senior Management Teams (SMT), advising on and leading operational changes aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving sustainable practices across the fleet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and monitor HESS and energy performance for 11 vessels within the Carnival UK fleet.
- Drive operational improvements in fleet reliability, technical performance, and efficiency.
- Own and manage critical metrics, including plant efficiency, EGCS usage, and HESS performance.
- Advise the onboard Senior Management Teams on operational changes to reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainability practices.
- Set, maintain, and implement all maritime standards, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company HESS and ISM Code standards.
- Develop and implement an effective maintenance and repair strategy to ensure optimal fleet performance and vessel uptime.
- Play a key role in emergency response operations, supporting the fleet during major unplanned events.
- Collaborate with maritime teams onboard and ashore, coordinating resources and ensuring alignment with other Ship Managers within the Fleet Team.
