Description:
- The Fleet & Transport Management Lead is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- This role involves strategic planning, route optimization, and fleet maintenance to meet customer expectations and maintain high standards of service quality and operational efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fleet and transport management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards.
- Proficient in CRM software and data analysis tools.
Responsibilities:
- Fleet Operations Management: Oversee daily fleet operations, including route planning, driver scheduling, and dispatch to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for the fleet to ensure vehicles are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with all regulations.
- Cost Management: Monitor and manage transportation costs, optimize fuel usage, and identify areas to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all fleet operations comply with safety standards and government regulations; manage driver safety training and vehicle inspections.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key metrics such as on-time delivery rates, fleet utilization, and downtime to continuously improve performance.
- Vendor & Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with maintenance vendors, fuel suppliers, and insurance providers to secure favorable terms and ensure service reliability.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the transport and fleet team, including drivers and maintenance staff, to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and customer-focused service.
