SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or refining industry
  • Minimum eight years of specialization in Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC)
  • Technical site or unit experience including monitoring, troubleshooting, asset support, projects and turnarounds
  • Process and equipment design experience including use of process simulation packages, such as Aspen, Pro-II, and KBC Petro-SIM
  • Ability to demonstrate following:
  • Ensure health of FCC modeling and optimization tools, and identify needed changes
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledgeable in FCC reaction kinetics
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, especially in multi-cultural global team
  • Strategic thinking and develop creative fit for purpose solutions to resolve operational problems
  • Influence and promote change to achieve desired results with no or minimal direct authority
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed for various business reasons

You will be an integral part of our process engineering team providing deep technical insights for a specific process engineering technology area (i.e. Fluid Catalytic Cracking or FCC), and provide support to ExxonMobil’s manufacturing facilities globally.
Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced FCC Process Specialist to join our Kuala Lumpur Technology Center team. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur and you will be working very closely with our global process engineering team and manufacturing sites’ teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

If successful, your key deliverables include:

  • Provide active Technical Leadership, assisting organization in goal setting, mentorship of less experienced engineers, sharing technical and organizational knowledge, envisioning and influencing improvements and value capture
  • Process modeling sustainment and deployment support
  • Mentor and train less experienced technical specialists
  • Provide Fluid Catalytic process engineering and technical support to ExxonMobil and third party licensee manufacturing sites
  • Provide capital projects with Fluid Catalytic process engineering and technical support to meet business needs and efficient use of capital
  • Lead or support troubleshooting or improvement opportunities for Fluid Catalytic process units
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and suppliers to ensure appropriate design, manufacture, testing and delivery of equipment
  • Support successful installation, commissioning, and operation of grassroots or revamped facilities
