WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND SHOW

Must hold as a minimum a NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent or higher.
Ideally have experience of property/facilities/mechanical safety management.
Demonstrate high standards of forward planning, organisational skills, influencing skills and risk management.
Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross functionally at all levels of the business.
Ideally have an in-depth knowledge of FM Safety, in particular associated within a retail environment.
Good networking across logistics store support, retail and other operational areas.

Responsibilities:

Provide expertise in FM safety, both soft and hard services with a particular focus on those which form part of our legal undertakings and those which keep people safe from harm, including but not limited to as CPPM, PPM, structural maintenance, electricity, and HVAC.
Be able to collate and interpret data from a variety of sources, covering accidents, incidents and near misses involving FM Safety, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for reducing harm and improving compliance and identifying save & invest to win opportunities.
Work in partnership (developing new partnerships where appropriate) with Sainsbury’s FM teams and their chosen contractors. Working collaboratively with the Safety CDM Construction specialist ensuring satisfactory levels of compliance are maintained through design, during installation and maintenance including all relevant permits and notices.
Work cross functionally with relevant teams to ensure appropriate levels of FM Safety are maintained and opportunities for improvement, simplification or cost reduction are taken.
Carry out Risk Assessments, support FM contractor onboarding and audits as required. Carry out detailed accident investigations or root cause analysis to remove harm and provide second line assurance for all FM accidents and reviewing contractor owned investigations.
Be responsible for contractor FM safety performance, attending meetings with Sainsburys FM teams as required.
