Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Banquet Supervisor ensures that policies and procedures are maintained while directing, evaluating, and coaching Banquet personnel for an optimal guest experience. The Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring an outstanding experience for all guests of all banquets and special events. Attention to detail and a flair are key qualities of the successful candidate. The Banquet Captain is the primary point of contact for the client on the day of the event and motivates and leads the Banquet team by example. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in the hospitality field an asset.
  • Must have at least 1 years front-of-house service and or bartending experience.
  • Knowledge of POS experience required
  • Current or past position as a food and beverage supervisor/ lead or Banquet supervisory experience an asset.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work alone or with a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel an asses
  • Out-going, creative, and a passion for “wowing” the customer.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to balance competing tasks calmly and professionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all events such as weddings, corporate events, entertainment shows etc are executed as per client specifications and department standards
  • Ensures team members are providing high quality guest service experience
  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to banquet team members
  • Supervises personnel to ensure policies are being maintained.
  • Coordinates and conducts training for the banquet team members
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • As directed by the Banquets Manager coordinates the screening and selection of new hires; organizes and tracks training process
  • Communicates effectively with employees, encourages, and fosters a teamwork environment.
  • Ensures the integrity of the Casino including compliance with internal controls, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Responsible for employee coaching and corrective action administration
  • Ensures all functions meet the highest standards of service and are executed professionally and efficiently.
