POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Food Services Manager is a new and dynamic role within our organization, designed to address and streamline food purchasing, distribution, and meal preparation across all residential locations. This position will play a critical role in centralizing food services, reducing costs, and improving the nutritional quality and consistency of meals provided to the people we support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Proven experience in a food services management role, preferably within a similar environment (e.g., residential care, healthcare, or social services).
Education: A degree or diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics, Culinary Arts, Supply Chain, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Food Purchasing & Distribution: Centralize and manage the purchasing and distribution of food supplies for all residential homes and clusters. Ensure cost-effective procurement practices and timely delivery.
- Menu Creation & Meal Planning: Develop balanced and nutritious menus tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of the people we support. Work closely with staff to ensure adherence to meal plans.
- Cooking Assistance & Education: Provide support and guidance to House Leaders and the people we support in meal preparation. Offer cooking classes or workshops to enhance their culinary skills and promote healthy eating habits.
- Dietary Accommodations: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to accommodate specific dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
- Cost Management: Implement strategies to reduce overall food costs while maintaining high-quality standards. Track and analyze food expenses to ensure budget compliance.
- Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate the quality of meals prepared and served, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of essential food items while minimizing waste.
- Creativity & Innovation: Explore and introduce innovative approaches to food services that align with Simaril’s mission and values.
- Budget & Inventory Management: Manage food service budgets, including purchasing and inventory control. Monitor and control food costs, minimizing waste while maintaining quality.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
