Description:
Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, the Food Services Worker is responsible, as part of a team, to assist with preparing meals for guests. The Food Services Worker will ensure all food deliveries from suppliers and donations are received, sorted, and stored in the most efficient manner. Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and food service areas is also part of this role.

Schedule: Friday to Monday 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in the Food Service industry is preferred
- A valid Alberta Health Services Food Safe certificate
- Ability to successfully prepare food in a commercial kitchen for a large number of clients
- Willing to obtain the necessary training The Mustard Seed requires
- Customer service experience
- Ability to resolve conflicts as they arise

- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- A satisfactory employment background check and vulnerable sector search is required
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify orders and store all purchased food and kitchen items
- Receive donated goods, sort and move to appropriate area(s)
- Place food on the giveaway carts during mealtimes
- Oversee stored food rotation
- Keep all food inventories up to date
- Greet and welcome all donors in a professional and respectful manner
- Assist cook with preparing and serving meals
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, countertops, walls
- Work in dish-pit cleaning cookware and dishes
- Work alongside volunteers
- Respect and follow necessary boundaries with coworkers, volunteers and guests
- Maintain Occupational Health & Safety Standards
- Follow the Alberta Health Services guidelines regarding how food is prepared, handled, and storedAbide by all Health & Safety protocols including completing a report for all incidents that occur, including near misses, in a timely manner.Other duties as assigned
