Responsibilities:

The Forensic Services Support Team is responsible for forensic stenographic services and records management and case management including management of records systems and report production. The team is structured around a focused and timely approach to supporting medical and scientific staff, in addition to centralised management of case work, improving and streamlining systems and processes, and enabling a uniform interface with VIFM’s records management systems.
The Forensic Stenography and Records Officer is responsible for providing medical transcription stenographic services, records management duties, filing and retrievals, along with administrative and reception services.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing stenographic (medical audio transcription) services to support the production of highly confidential medico-legal, pathology including histology and analytical reports
  • Undertaking all records management processes including medical transcription of forensic reports, typing, tracking, archiving, accessing records and dealing with information requests for all areas within Forensic Services
  • Retrieving and tracking case records (onsite and offsite) as requested.
