- Knowledge of national trends and policy initiatives on the federal level that can impact delivery services for the forensic population.
- Considerable knowledge of clinical and non-nonclinical support services.
- Considerable knowledge of the delivery systems and issues pertaining to individuals challenged by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse.
- Knowledge and application of psychological principles, theories, methods, and
- procedures.
- Ability to coordinate and supervise work.
- Ability to relate appropriately to client and staff members.
- Knowledge and ability to file and organize records.
- Considerable knowledge and skills using Excel for data collection and data analysis.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master s Degree in Psychology or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
Responsibilities:
THE FORENSIC SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Teach psychoeducational groups geared toward Capacity Restoration. û Provide individual capacity restoration for all ITP patients.
- Work with treatment teams to develop treatment plans and evaluate the progress of patients.
- Develop new curriculum for groups and individual sessions regarding capacity restoration.
- Research the latest information on state policies pertaining to ITP patients, evidence-based treatments for ITP patients, and programming for these patients.
- Collect and analyze data on our ITP population such as length of stay, demographics, types of charges, types of diagnoses, percentages of beds used by the hospital, county of charges, etc.
- Update the forensic portal for each ITP admission and with information collected for each ITP in-house.
