The Opportunity:
We are seeking for an experienced Foreperson to join us at our Blackwell Quarry based on Great Barrier Island, Auckland, New Zealand.
The preferred applicant will be based on the beautiful Great Barrier Island or be willing to relocation to the island on a permanent basis.
As a hands-on Foreperson, you will be leading an operational crew to deliver works on time, to budget and within specifications. Having a Health & Safety mindset towards all requirements of operations is high importance to the role to ensure we deliver good work aligned within our safety values.

In addition to the above you will:

• Coordinate, plan and organise plant, labour, subcontractors and suppliers as required for projects.
• Loading out aggregates, initiating dockets & payment systems
• Annual Quarry preparation for drilling & blasting projects (working with the Quarry manager & specialist contractors)
• Conduct monthly stock taking & reporting (co-ordinate with manager)
• Keeping a safe, clean & tidy working environment
• Take part in Quarry audits and action any requirements to meet compliance

We are looking for someone with:

• Hold a NZ Class 4 drivers’ licence with experience
• Hold WTR Endorsement with experience
• Hold or be able to work towards a Quarry managers A and B Grade Certificate
• Prior people management experience is preferred
• Experience in either Construction, Civil or Quarry operations is required
