We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Forest School Leader to work at Kedington Primary Academy 3 afternoons a week and one afternoon at Steeple Bumpstead Primary School. There is flexibility in which days these are. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where children can explore, develop confidence, and build connections with nature. You will plan and deliver Forest School sessions for children across the primary school age range but mostly with our Reception and Year 1 cohorts, which will foster curiosity, independence, and resilience in young learners. Both schools are friendly one-form entry village primary schools located close to Haverhill and are part of the Unity Schools Partnership.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is calm, positive and patient
  • will support our trauma informed schools approach
  • is passionate about Forest School
  • has the interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with children, colleagues and parents
  • is able to use their own initiative and can ‘think on their feet’
  • is efficient and organised
  • has experience working with children with special educational needs

As part of the Unity Schools Partnership, we offer:

  • very friendly and welcoming schools
  • lovely, well-behaved children who are enthusiastic learners
  • supportive colleagues and parents
  • a supportive and driven leadership team
  • a wide range of CPD opportunities both through the school and through Unity
  • a 2 week October half term break and a wellbeing day off each year
  • fantastic, established Forest School areas and there is possible scope to increase the hours to provide additional Forest School sessions over the week.

Please see the job description for more details.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the office on 01440 702787 or admin@kedingtonprimary.co.uk for more information or to arrange a visit.

We’re keen to ensure we’re designing an organisation that works for everyone, so we particularly encourage applications from different under-represented groups.
