Formulation Technician I

As a Formulation Technician I, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with regulatory cGMP requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and follow approved batch records (BR), work instructions (WI), and standard operating procedures (SOP) to perform manufacturing and/or packaging operations.
  • Set up, program, and operate various manufacturing and/or packaging equipment, including mixers, extruders, welders, dryers, and pouch sealers.
  • Clean facilities, equipment, and utensils following SOPs and WIs.
  • Complete required documentation accurately during the manufacturing and/or packaging process.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work area by strictly adhering to policies, procedures, and cGMPs.
  • Prepare manufacturing areas and equipment for the production of pharmaceutical products.
  • Safely operate computer-controlled equipment used in dispensing, granulation, compression, or coating.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment using basic hand tools.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Maintain accurate records such as batch records and logbooks.
  • Follow production documents, SOPs, and cGMPs accurately.
  • Explore possibilities for enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency, and actively engage in the progress of the organization.
  • Perform duties in other work areas as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment within pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food processing industries is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical proficiency and ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Strong reading comprehension and math skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior computer operation and experience in APACS are desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to manipulate/handle drums weighing up to 100 lbs. and lift containers weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to hand-scoop 5 lbs. intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including white zone gowning requirements and various styles of respirators.
  • Ability to operate a stand-up forklift and walkie-stacker.
