PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Startup Experience: Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Senior Engineer in startup environments, or similar experience where building and shipping was the main focus.
  • Career Diversity: Experience working in multiple companies or environments, seen multiple implementations of different architecture patterns and tools
  • Technical Expertise: min. 8-10 years of professional experience in software engineering.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Broad Technical Background: Proficiency across various technology areas, with a strong foundation in system design and architecture.
  • Key Technology Proficiency (at least two):
  • Java/Kotlin
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • React/React Native
  • Python
  • System Design Competency: Expertise in architectural decision-making and the ability to design systems that balance complexity with maintainability.

SOFT SKILLS

  • Strong Written Communication: Skilled at long-form communication, including detailed technical documentation and decision-making rationale. Comfortable reading and contributing actively to comprehensive documentation.
  • Autonomous and Pragmatic: Capable of independently framing problems, designing solutions, and executing tasks. Pragmatic in balancing technical idealism with real-world constraints.
  • Focused Execution: Thrives in a hands-on role, prioritizing practical outcomes over leadership or management responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, and Deploy: Work across the entire technology stack, from backend services and infrastructure to front-end development. Build, test, and deploy solutions based on evolving business requirements, ensuring high-quality results.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead architectural decisions from initial design through to implementation. Collaborate with the small senior team to refine solutions and ensure they meet business objectives.
  • Transparent Collaboration: Maintain detailed documentation of technical decisions, processes, and system architecture. Foster an environment of transparency and continuity within the team by sharing insights and ensuring clarity.
