Description:

TYLER UNION IN ANNISTON, AL IS SEEKING A FOUNDRY PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR. GFD EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc. has a century of success in manufacturing and selling ductile iron fittings, joint restraints, and valve boxes for the waterworks industry.
Supervisor is responsible for the safety, environment, production, and quality of assigned departments(s). Position supervise and coordinate all departmental activities while leading accordingly to the McWane Way.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Always adhere to Company safety rules and regulations and work safely.
  • Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors and lives the Compass Culture.
  • Oversee the day-to-day functions supporting the operation and direct the activities of team members engaged in the production area.
  • Facilitate daily startup meetings with the team while promoting safety and unity.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Ensure quality processes are in place and effective.
  • Confer and collaborate with other supervisors and manage to ensure seamless communication and effective transition of products and activities.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Conduct team member training in equipment operations and work and safety procedures.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
  • Confer with management or human resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate team members and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor electronic time and attendance schedules for assigned team members and their clocking in and out.
  • Observe team member behavior, research actions, document and recommend discipline for actions inconsistent with General Company Rules and standard business practices.
  • Issue disciplines within established time periods.
  • Required to work in shifts as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university preferred.
  • Three (3) of manufacturing experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Responsibilities:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Listen to team members’ professional needs while coaching and empowering staff to optimize and elevate their competencies.
  • Proactively address potential issues and work to quickly resolve any complaints or concerns.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate the team to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain and approve team member time records (schedule, vacation, and attendance, etc.).
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety, rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
