Responsibilities:
SRC currently has an opening for an electrical engineer with eight - ten (8-10) years’ of experience designing, building and testing complex hardware and software systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a team of engineers throughout the project lifecycle on multiple projects to support requirements definition, design, prototyping, development, integration, testing, and delivery. Systems to be developed are primarily RF (radar and communications) based systems utilized to provide test and training support at military ranges with a capability to be integrated with range control networks to enable status reporting and remote control capabilities.
- Work in both a team environment and independently to perform the following tasks
- Design and integration of complex hardware solutions to the chassis or system level
- Analog and digital circuit design including schematic capture (Altium or ORCAD experience desired)
- AC and DC power system design
- Hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment at both the board, chassis, and system level in both the laboratory and in the field
- Guide and mentor a team of technicians and engineers through the build and integration of complex custom and Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) hardware solutions
- Lead and conduct technology trade studies to determine the most cost effective and capable solutions for our customers and support the development of white papers and technical reports
- Participate in and/or lead technical peer reviews and customer reviews such as requirements reviews and preliminary/critical design reviews
- Lead development of technical data package deliveries to the customer with mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics to include developing a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Lead development of project related documentation to include operational concept documents, specifications, requirements documents, design documents, test documents, and operations and maintenance documents
- Periodic travel will be required to support integration, delivery and field testing of developed systems. This test support may occur at various military test and training ranges throughout the United States. Travel support may be required for 1-2 weeks at a time
- Experience with standard test equipment (such as spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers oscilloscopes, and network analyzers) and a solid working knowledge of RF theory is required
