We are looking for a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Leader to oversee the production of Flexible Pipes at our manufacturing facility in Newcastle. The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading the manufacturing teams, managing production processes, production planning and maintenance, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
As the Manufacturing Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing production plans and schedules to meet customer demand and production targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
- Leading and managing a team of manufacturing staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Monitoring and analysing production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Developing and implementing Maintenance plans to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
- Ensuring continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards using Lean fundamentals.
- Collaborating with engineering, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality, compliance with industry standards, and timely delivery.
- Maintaining a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Developing and managing budgets, track production costs, and optimize resources to meet financial targets.
- Preparing and presenting reports on production performance, key metrics, and operational updates to senior management.
- Conducting frequent interactions on a strategic level due to complex long term planning activities and/or complex long-term sales processes with high degrees of customization.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Have significant years of experience in manufacturing operations, with proven years in a management role.
- Have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Have a proven track record of successfully managing manufacturing teams and meeting production targets.
- Have strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Have knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing operations.
- Have proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Have previous experience in leading significant business modernization and embedding a positive improvement minded culture in a manufacturing business. This change could be transformation, turnaround, merger/acquisition, significant growth, new product/market/customers etc. This change will have required embedding cultural change through a management group to influence all levels effectively.
- Have well-developed communication skills: able to lead, inspire, motivate, manage, influence, challenge, collaboration, coach and hold their teams to account.
- Be able to raise standards, expectations, and belief in what really can be achieved (having demonstrated this previously).
- Have a strategic, tactical, commercial and customer minded. Able to pro-actively engage with central functions to ensure they deliver
