JOB OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a confident, experienced, forward-thinking individual to join us as Freelancer Resource Manager to head the newly restructured Freelancer Management team. The team will be responsible for the recruitment, performance and management of the Group’s external subtitling and translation resources. They should have a deep understanding of subtitling and translation workflows, be knowledgeable and focused, commercially savvy, technologically minded, able to pick up tools/software quickly, be able to set up processes and procedures in line with new requirements, have excellent negotiation skills and be able to manage a large team.
Candidates must have a proven track record of developing operational efficiencies in a similar role within media localisation and excel at supplier relationship management.
The chosen candidate will be instrumental in the change management process within the department as the business centralises its subtitling service across the Group, forming a distinct Business Unit, and shifts from one system to another.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in subtitling and translation or related discipline
  • Proven VM experience in a subtitling / translation / localisation environment or similar industry desired
  • Proven experience as a subtitler or subtitle QCer, working with industry standard software Ooona Manager, Toolkit and EZTitles desired
  • Ability to pick up software/tools quickly and independently
  • Experience in interviewing / recruitment
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Ability to clearly and accurately plan, record and summarise project information
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise and work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of standard MS Office programmes, especially Excel
  • Experience in project management tools and applications
  • Business background and experience in subtitling, voice-over and dubbing a must

Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Management: Demonstrate a deep understanding of subtitling and translation workflows to implement the strategy for the Freelancer Management department. This will imply to design, optimize and implement processes and procedures in line with new business requirements.
  • Talent Acquisition: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified freelance subtitlers and translators, leveraging our industry expertise to identify, vet, and onboard the best talent. The FRM will be responsible to build a global first-class team of recruiters to source, test and onboard the subtitling and translation freelancers required to meet business needs
  • Performance Management: Establish clear performance metrics and feedback mechanisms to ensure the external resources consistently deliver high-quality work and meet project timelines.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Excel at building and nurturing strong relationships with freelance suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and resolving any issues that may arise. Create and manage the negotiation of standardised rate cards per language and service line.
  • Team Leadership: Serve as a strong leader, able to communicate effectively with management and team members, and collaborate seamlessly with diverse global stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Leverage your technological expertise to identify and implement tools and software, including AI tools, that can enhance operational efficiencies within the Freelancer Management team.
