Freelance Sound Engineer for New Music Artist

We are seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Sound Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a sound engineer in the music industry
• Proficiency in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live
• Strong understanding of audio signal flow, microphone techniques, and acoustics
• Experience with both analog and digital audio equipment
• Familiarity with various music genres and production styles

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with artists and team members
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Creative problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges
• Patience and ability to translate artistic ideas into sonic reality

Additional Requirements

• Portfolio of previous work demonstrating diverse audio engineering skills
• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary
• Own professional-grade audio equipment is a plus
• Knowledge of music theory and ability to play an instrument is beneficial

Recording and Production

• Set up and operate professional audio equipment for studio recording sessions
• Collaborate with Kati to capture her artistic vision through sound
• Apply various audio effects and processing techniques to enhance recordings
• Ensure optimal sound quality throughout the recording process

Mixing and Post-Production

• Mix and balance multiple audio tracks to create cohesive and professional-sounding productions
• Apply equalization, compression, and other audio processing techniques to refine the sound
• Collaborate with Kati to achieve desired sonic aesthetics for each track
• Prepare final mixes for mastering

Technical Expertise

• Maintain and troubleshoot audio equipment as needed
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging audio technologies
• Provide technical advice on equipment purchases and studio upgrades
• Ensure proper documentation of recording sessions and mix settings
