JOB OVERVIEW:

This is a 12-month contract opportunity. We are looking for a confident and proactive individual to join us as Freelancer Recruitment Specialist, reporting to the Freelancer Manager (Head of Subtitling Operations in the interim). You will be responsible for the recruitment of external resources as per our business needs. You should be able to set up processes and procedures, have excellent negotiation skills and attention to detail.
We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual, able to manage and prioritise the business’ demands whilst maintaining and growing a first-class pool of resources.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree, preferably in subtitling or translation-related discipline
  • 3 years’ relevant VM experience in a subtitling / translation / localisation environment or similar industry is preferred
  • Experience in interviewing / recruitment
  • Experience in managing a team ideal
  • Ability to clearly and accurately plan, record and summarise project information
  • Ability to pick up software/tools quickly
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise and work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of standard MS Office programmes, including but not limited to Excel
  • Experience in project management tools and applications
  • Business background and experience in subtitling, voice-over and dubbing a strong advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Building the company’s subtitling and translation freelance pool, as required, managing the search, testing, selection and recruitment
  • Continue to manage and onboard all the company’s external resources (including subcontracted freelancers, agencies and studios for subtitling, translation, dubbing, voice-over and audio description, or any other language localisation services) as required during the transition
  • Evaluating potential suppliers using established, fixed criteria such as industry experience, capacity, quality standards and cost
  • Ensuring all relevant legal documentation is signed as necessary during the testing and onboarding process
  • Attending universities, recruitment fairs and seeking out other opportunities to find new talent and raise the profile of VSI
  • Receiving supplier feedback, following up with supplier, organising training where necessary and updating the database as necessary
  • Supporting the Freelance Resource Manager with:
  • ad-hoc requests, e.g. providing the sales and PM teams with pre-sales resource advice and supplier costs for long-term and one-off projects, capacity requests, RFPs
  • creating supplier testing and proofreading procedures for on-going and project-specific recruitment, including creation of tests and supporting material as necessary
  • researching emerging territories and sourcing new vendors to meet clients’ needs
  • testing and development of department tools
  • the smooth transition to centralisation of subtitling suppliers and separation of management of other suppliers
  • the maintenance of the database and ensuring the integrity of the supplier data
  • planning and executing campaigns to gather or update supplier data
  • Negotiating competitive rates with existing and new suppliers for long-term collaboration and on a project basis
  • Organising training support where necessary
  • Providing cover for the Freelance Resource Manager as required
  • Identifying project/process improvement opportunities
