Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY
The French Teacher will deliver high-quality language instruction to students at The British School of Monaco, teaching French to A Level and an additional language (such as Spanish or Italian) to IGCSE. The role requires a dynamic and engaging educator who can foster linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and a love for languages. The teacher will support students in developing their communication skills and preparing for British public examinations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Language Instruction
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in French up to A Level.
- Teach an additional modern foreign language (such as Spanish or Italian) up to IGCSE.
- Develop students’ linguistic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Encourage cultural appreciation through authentic materials, literature, and discussions.
Progress Monitoring and Assessment
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic performance.
- Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE and A Level examinations.
Exam Preparation
- Teach effective exam techniques, essay writing skills, and oral presentation strategies.
- Support students in achieving their best possible results in external assessments.
Stakeholder Communication
- Work closely with parents, guardians, and academic advisors to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to enhance language learning at the school.
Resource Creation
- Develop engaging and interactive teaching materials tailored to different learning styles.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to support language acquisition.
School Contributions
- Support extracurricular activities related to languages, such as language clubs or cultural events.
- Supervise students during school activities, excursions, or events as needed.
