Job Title: Front Desk Assistant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Youth Development Office Manager Revision Date: 6/2021
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Youth Development Office Manager, the Front Desk Assistant will assist in supporting the basic day to day and general building operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required. A minimum of a 2-year Early Childhood Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in appropriate administration support functions.
- Knowledge of Indiana Rules for Licensing Child Care Centers, NAEYC Accreditation, Paths to Quality initiative preferred.
- Knowledge of Daxko or child care software preferred.
- Minimum age of 21
- Requirements include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens, physical, Drug Screen, and a variety of youth development trainings
- Maintain a minimum of 20 hours of professional development yearly.
- Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office, excel, and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

Responsibilities:
Assist with directing communication with families and Mitchell personnel based on their needs.
- Performs administrative tasks to ensure existing state license regulations are maintained.
- Maintains ongoing communications to ensure classroom teachers and current families are well informed.
- Attends mandatory meetings and trainings sessions.
- Communicates to directors any suggestions, concerns, or incidents for follow up.
- Is friendly and courteous to children, families, fellow staff members, volunteers, and guests.
- Provides excellent customer service
- Upholds guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook of the Association.
- Follows all Mitchell Center employee rules, dress code, policies and guidelines.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by Directors.
