POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking personable and fun individual to be the first point of contact with our members and new people coming to our facility for the first time. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pickleball, excellent people skills, and a passion for providing the best experience for our community. As a Front Desk Associate, you will check-in everyone for their bookings, assist with running programming, help drive bookings, help drive sales and assist members with any questions or concerns. You will help cement the building blocks of what this position looks like as Pickleplex continues to grow.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledgeable of pickleball rules and willingness to develop knowledge of pickleball techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with players of all ages and skill levels.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail when running programming sessions.
- Strong verbal communication skills to engage and assist customers effectively.
- Willingness to learn about pickleball equipment and accessories.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing sales transactions.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- First Aid and CPR certification will be required for successful candidates.
- Passion for pickleball and commitment to promoting the sport and fostering a love for the game among players.
- Must have Smart Serve Certification or be willing to get it before the first shift.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of customer service experience is required.
- 1 years of experience working in a sports club environment is preferred.
- Knowledgeable of pickleball rules.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- A secondary education or higher is required.

Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Club General Manager, you will follow our company guidelines for customer experience, sales and professionalism.
- Assist customers in finding and selecting the right pickleball equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Offer product recommendations and knowledge to ensure customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Run programming sessions that are easy for members to understand and enjoyable for all those involved.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pro shop and courts.
- Do routine walk through to ensure all parts of the facility are running smoothly.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Pickleplex’s products and services, effectively communicating their features and benefits to customers.
- Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Assist with social media when applicable.
- Promptly log and report any security incident/concerns when they arise.
- Fill out opening and closing checklists to keep the head office informed of all things happening onsite every day.
- Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner, seeking resolutions when needed.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and conducting periodic stock checks.
- Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and developments in pickleball.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents (in case of minors), and staff regarding program information, scheduling and progress updates.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and club policies.
- Assist will recruiting and retaining players, promoting programs, and supporting over club initiatives.
