Description:

JEWISH COUNCIL FOR YOUTH SERVICES (JCYS) IS A 117-YEAR-OLD, CHICAGO-BASED NONPROFIT AGENCY THAT PROVIDES EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CAMP PROGRAMS TO CHILDREN OF ALL RELIGIONS, RACES, AND ETHNICITIES ACROSS CHICAGOLAND.

We are looking for a part-time Front Desk Coordinator to join our team in the Lincoln Square/Ravenswood area. This person must be able to work Monday through Friday from 1:00pm until 5:45pm.
The primary responsibility of our Front Desk Coordinator is to maintain an inviting, positive, clean, and safe lobby in our building.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous front desk or customer service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including being a good listener
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and good decision making skills
  • Positive and energetic attitude
    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Let families and visitors in and check identification as necessary
  • Greet families during drop-off and pick-up
  • Answer phone calls and emails responding to basic questions from parents
  • Take messages for other staff as needed
  • Monitor and approve access to the building beyond the reception area
  • Develop familiarity with center programs and schedule
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the center administration and teachers as needed
  • Oversees copier and printer maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
