Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, the unrivaled five-star hotel in Central America, is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of the resort, ensuring guests have a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. You will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, and providing outstanding service to ensure every guest feels valued and cared for.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Always maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor in all interactions with guests, clients, and team members.
  • Greet and register hotel guests, fulfilling their requests, following special handling instructions, and adhering to established credit policies and procedures.
  • Handle a variety of room keys and ensure proper distribution.
  • Be familiar with room availability and rates for current and future dates to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Accept reservations, changes, and cancellations in the absence of reservations staff.
  • Select and block rooms for arriving guests, pre-register individuals or groups as required, and assist in escorting VIPs and returning guests to their rooms when requested.
  • Work closely with the Concierge staff to coordinate the efficient handling of guest luggage and address guest requests promptly.
  • Resolve guest problems or complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Utilize the hotel’s computer system to run daily reports and manage special requests.
  • Keep all support departments informed of necessary information or guest requests.
  • Manage safety deposit box requests, including distribution, access, and closing procedures.
  • Complete key packets and vouchers, modify registration cards, and handle the check-out process according to established procedures.
  • Make change, cash checks, exchange foreign currency, and post charges to guest accounts accurately.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer assigned to you by the hotel and reconcile all transactions at the end of each shift.
  • Recite the operating hours of all hotel facilities and special service codes.
  • Understand the tasks performed by telephone operators, reservationists, concierges, and housekeeping staff to provide guests with comprehensive service.
  • Handle hotel emergency procedures and situations with maturity and professionalism.
  • Perform as the night receptionist when needed and assist with night audit procedures.
  • Complete tasks and projects as delegated by the Assistant Manager, Front Office Manager, or Rooms Division Manager.
