The Comfort Inn & Suites Calgary Airport North has an opening for a full time Front Desk Supervisor. At our hotel guests feel that we are their home away from their home because of our staff are friendly and empathetic and go the extra mile for our guests.
Job Requirements :
- Hospitality experience is a MUST (Front Desk/ Reservations/ Admin Departments)
- PMS or Hotel operating system experience is an asset.
- Choice Brand experience will be an asset.
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent written, oral and organizational skills.
- Must be comfortable with shift work and be available AM, PM and overnight (just for emergencies), weekend and statutory holidays.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills, able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong computer literacy, and experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Self-motivated; always a positive outlook.
- High level of creativity and innovation

Responsibilities:
- Follow and enforce company and Comfort Inn policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for ensuring 100% satisfaction from the moment guests arrive at the hotel until they check out.
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor of yourself.
- Checking guests into and out of the hotel, disburse room keys and inform guests about hotel facilities/services, fulfilling their requests during their stay.
- Answer telephones, making reservations, post charges, handle cash and credit card transactions, and other duties as assigned.
- Be responsible for the daily Front Desk operations during their shift. Initiate and monitor shift checklists for proper completion of tasks.
- Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.
- Respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely manner. Manage and resolve all guest complaints (and compliments) in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain guest folios, house accounts, vouchers, gift certificates, etc.
- Ensure that the front desk and back office is clean and well organized.
- Communicate with public, hotel staff and management in a professional manner.
- Attend to daily operational requirements of guest recognition program, amenity program and standard shift procedures.
- Provide effective communication to all departments of guests’ issues via the log book as well as completion of an incident report.
- Effectively coordinate relocation of guests when necessary.
- Ensure attention is placed on lobby activity and maintain a sense of control and coordination, this is especially important during night audit shifts.
- Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting and profit centers.
- Balance and audit for accuracy and close credit card batches
- Complete and transmit daily management, accounting reports, supporting documents to management team and other duties as assigned.
