Our patented technology is integrated with over 80 payment service providers and enables businesses to take secure and PCI DSS compliant payments anywhere, by telephone or any digital payment channel. We have a large and diverse customer base including Aviva, the British Heart Foundation, Sky, Santander, Virgin Holidays and Next. Our growth has been fuelled by long term partnerships with some of the world’s leading network and telecom specialists including BT, Genesys, Gamma Telecom, Sabio, Secureco and Amdocs.
In June 2021 the highly respected and well-established private equity house, Livingbridge, invested over £100m alongside management to acquire the business. Together we are committed to developing exciting new products and expanding our geographical reach to further accelerate the growth of the business.
The role
We are looking for a Front-end Developer to join our growing Engineering department.
Our Engineering department sits at the centre of our service-oriented platform and is comprised of 21 Engineers, and they are responsible for the nucleus of our solution which deals with the capture, storage, processing and retrieval of sensitive data.
There are a number of exciting new products in the pipeline for the team to work on over the next one year – these include development of a whole new product direction as well as adding new functionality to the existing product with the potential opportunity to re-design and re-write and enhance. Whilst these are ongoing the team will also maintain and modernise our existing platform with a strong focus on refactoring and removing technical debt that has accumulated over time and dealing with BAU support issues that crop up from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Creating the frontend pages for Voice platform.
  • Design, communicate and document new features within the software solution in response to specific requirements from the product team and/or project teams.
  • Promote and communicate best industry practice within the development team. Mentoring and guidance of less experienced members of the team.
  • Ensuring that code quality of our solution is paramount and looking for ways to modernise existing application to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Being responsible for team with estimates – high level to allow business decisions to be made and detailed once projects start.
  • To be involved in product and bespoke delivery discussion and add guidance on decisions made, in order to promote best practice and continual improvement of the solution.
  • Being an active member of a sprint-focussed Agile team – including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Helping to improve the velocity of the team by committing to, and delivering, the work allocated.
  • Occasionally acting as third line support where required, fixing priority bugs.

Essential skills

  • Proficient in Javascript.
  • Proficient in HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Experience with CSS pre-processors, such as PostCSS and SCSS.
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative manner, regularly contributing to technical discussion and decisions.
  • Understanding of web performance optimisation techniques.
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas to other stakeholders of varying backgrounds and a natural preference for contributing to a team’s success.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to learn and stretch, keeping up to date with the latest trends and using these to drive product enhancements.
