We’re looking for a Front-End Web Developer, with special consideration given to applicants with e-commerce experience. The role will be focused on building website enhancements and maintaining our ongoing promotions.
At The Brick, we do our design and development work in-house, so we need creative people who have the hustle that is demanded by retail companies. Quality, attention to detail and the ability to hit deadlines are all critical aspects of our work. You will be working with a group of likeminded developers and designers, all focused on building the best experience for our customers online.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality front-end web applications using HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate closely with ecommerce managers, designers, and other stakeholders to transform designs into functional web pages.
  • Implement responsive and mobile-friendly designs to ensure optimal user experience across different devices and screen sizes.
  • Optimize web pages for performance and loading speed, ensuring an excellent user experience.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of web applications to ensure W3C standards compliance and seamless functionality.
  • Utilize Figma for efficient collaboration and seamless integration with the design team.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to optimize websites for SEO and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Proven experience (School or workplace) as a front-end developer, with a focus on web design and markup.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Proficiency in Figma for design collaboration and integration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Bit Bucket.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to transform designs into pixel-perfect, standards compliant web pages.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
