The Registrar’s Office staff are committed to strong service excellence in supporting the academic and registrarial needs of current undergraduate, graduate and professional master’s students. These services include advising and administration as it relates to registration, financial need, scholarships & awards, and graduation. In addition, the Registrar’s Office is responsible for recruitment and admissions of prospective students, administration of experiential learning opportunities (international research, in-field learning courses), scheduling of academic courses and exams and providing faculty support. The staff in the Office work collectively toward enhancing the student experience while being committed to operating under principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of related education and work experience in an educational environment
- Minimum two years of recent and related experience with student front line service and administrative experience working with students, preferably within the University of Toronto or another post-secondary institution
- Experience providing front line student support and providing information regarding admissions, fees, enrolment and other student related issues
- Experience preparing routine correspondence
- Experience working with databases, researching and interpreting data and preparing reports. Experience with organizing the logistics of special events
- Experience scheduling and maintaining student records and files and maintaining appointments of team calendars
- Experience with the University’s undergraduate and graduate programs, procedures, guidelines and programofferings, or other post-secondary student programs
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel) Demonstrated working knowledge of ROSI or other student related system. Ability to interpret reports from ROSI or other student related databases. Proficiency with HTML editors an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills
- Ability to exercise tact, judgment and diplomacy especially when dealing with confidential information or complaints. Requires accuracy and ability to attend to details. Ability to make decisions that require application and interpretation of guidelines and procedures
- Professional and welcoming demeanor and able to deal with sometimes difficult and/or demanding individuals. Ability to handle multiple inquiries simultaneously, to prioritize work under pressure and meet deadlines
