ABOUT THE ROLE
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Frontend Software Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is working on a project that aims to transform the way they and the wider Civil Service manage and share content by introducing a centralised platform for collaboration, content sharing, and publishing. This innovative shared digital service approach will streamline their technology stack, development, and implementation of similar future platforms. Designed in response to feedback from business units and requests for content publishing tools, the project will facilitate seamless interaction, document sharing, and community building across government departments. The platform will also feature a unified access point, allowing convenient access to various professional and functional portals, with the potential to host public-facing information when necessary. As a result, this venture will empower cross collaboration by promoting the sharing of best practices, policies, and strategies through a single cohesive platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality collaboration, content management and web applications, ensuring seamless integration with third-party services, and managing deployment workflows effectively
- Managing code using GitHub, maintaining clean and organised repositories, and developing RESTful APIs for application integration
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features
- Stay up to date with emerging front-end technologies, trends, and best practices
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness for a seamless experience across devices
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on performance
