Description:
Within FSO Business Consulting and our Business Transformation Delivery practice, you’ll work as part of a high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping financial services organisations solve their complex business opportunities and challenges from strategy to execution. On a typical day, you will have the opportunity to work on large transformation programmes for our clients and:
- Lead the programme management office across the end-to-end project lifecycle, from business case development to project mobilisation, execution and close-out.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of a PMO Team (PMO Analysts) and management of programme artefacts and processes.
- Work directly with the Programme Manager to support the management and administration of senior / Exec Level governance forums and other relevant SMT reports needed.
- Monitor areas of significant programme risk in conjunction with the Steering Committees and Programme Executives and Project Managers – act as an independent QA, reviewing reports (e.g., scope, schedule, cost, RAID Logs).
- Track and monitor compliance to status reporting and summarise for required governance forums – ensure status submissions are accurate and QA’ed and adhere to EY standards
- Support the relationship between the PMO Team and Project Managers across the programme.
- Support the creation of Decision and Change Request Papers for relevant governance forums.
- Monitoring of the path and interdependencies between programmes.
- Support the Workstream Project Managers with their Change Control inputs (Milestone plan, resourcing forecasts and RAID items)
- Manage the overall programme financials (including client / third party costs and non-resource costs such as licencing) and burn rate tracking, actively managing the forecast, budget, accruals and master resource list (MRL)
- Support client annual investment planning process with programme cost estimates
- Reconciliation of cost submissions and alignment in relevant project management systems such as Clarity - (rate changes / indexation / effective utilisation of resources)
- Manage benefits: Define and baseline the benefits that the programme will measured against, monitor and report progress against target benefits and challenge team leads on expected benefits.
- Draw on EY’s capabilities in our Business, Technology, People and Risk Consulting practices as well as experience from our global consulting network.
- Work with a global team of experts to develop unique and innovative solutions as well as benefitting from best-in-class training and development and bring the right insights and capability at the right time for our client engagements

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (EY CONSULTING MANAGER RANK):
- Support EY FSO Business Consulting business development activities, such as proposals, thought leadership and producing input for client events.
- Support EY Business Consulting operations ensuring that all operational metrics are met for utilisation, timesheet and related internal engagement management processes and system inputs.
- Manage and coach our people. You will be assigned junior resources to help them navigate their career in EY, support them with their personal development and the necessary performance management processes (LEAD).
- Use analytical thinking and structured problem solving to resolve challenges or blockers on engagements by actively engaging with clients and senior managers to progress or resolve problems.
- Write sharp and concise documents at a level suitable for C Suite-1 client level with minimal supervision and minor review for Senior Managers.
- Demonstrate “Key Facilitation Skills” – articulate the objective / Listen Actively / Useful questioning style / Observe and Intervene / Create Empathy / Remain Neutral / Achieve Consensus.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to C Suite-2 client level stakeholders in times of uncertainty in my engagement within minimal intervention required of Senior Managers.
- Identifying conflicting or challenge stakeholder relationship tailoring your style and behaviours to achieve a positive outcome.
- Successfully support Senior Managers, Directors and Partners lead complex engagements ensuring coordination with client’s strategic objectives.
- Support Senior Manager end to end manage engagement revenue and billing with minimal support.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in using Excel and other tools to analyse and translate data into insights, to develop basic financial models, and to support business case development.
- Communicate with authority to multiple audiences, including senior leadership. Individual has demonstrated ability to apply the skill to solve complex, multi-faceted and/or new problems, and is able to apply their knowledge and skill to customize solutions to specific requirements.
- Understand and develop solution and competency skills through on-the-job experience, appropriate training and engagement with the relevant solution and competency community.
TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE:
- 7+yrs experience in a PMO Lead role in financial services.
- Primary Degree.
- Experience of delivery of complex projects and strong presentation skills.
- Highly experienced in financial, stakeholder and people management.
- Experience of working on projects through the full delivery life cycle (from project concept/initiation to closing).
