Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The FS Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean facility that adheres to food safety rules and regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Lift, push, pull, pick, or carry overhead a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, walk, grasp, push and pull repeatedly 90 % of the time
  • Knowledge of FS rules and regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of sanitation or janitorial experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily cleaning of office, breakrooms, and washrooms
  • Fill in wherever the packhouse or greenhouse needs extra sanitation
  • Maintain janitorial inventory and reduce usage of disposable items where possible
  • Know and apply all Food Safety and Sanitation standards as set-out by the compliance team including proper use of cleaning chemicals, SSOPs and equipment maintenance
  • Responsible for making sure that all equipment is cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift
  • Dismantles and reassembles production equipment for cleaning
  • Uses chemicals according to company guidelines and safe practices
  • Washing bins, trash cans, containers, and other items for greenhouse and packhouse
  • Use of special protective equipment, such as glasses, gloves, and uniforms
  • Operation of hand and foot controls or repetitive hand and foot movement
