KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accounts Receivable
- Manage all rent collections in collaboration with Infrastructure and Program Teams
- Maintain and input data into Property Management Software
- Upload and reconcile entries between Property Management and Accounting Software
- Review and record bank deposits related to rent collections
- Coverage of other accounts receivable functions
Other Duties
- Assists with month end and year end processes
- Assists in the training and development of the junior finance team members
- Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Successful completion of a university degree or diploma in accounting
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards it considered an asset
- 3 years of hands-on experience in full cycle accounting
- Familiarity with accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Familiarity with accounting systems
- Prior experience with property management is an asset
- Willingness to learn new skills and provide input to improve current processes
- High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Ability to organize and manage time efficiently
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
- Ability to successfully pass a reference check
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements.
