WHAT YOU’LL NEED

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, marketing, sciences, environmental studies or engineering an asset. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will have 5 – 7 years of relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Candidate must demonstrate strengths in fuel management, pricing, pricing models, wholesale & retail contracts, contract negotiation, payment systems, marketing and products distribution.
- Candidate must possess advanced managerial and leadership skills and have the strength to manage the product, price position and TSSA compliance.
- Must be very analytical and the primary driver or leader of all fuel related projects.
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office products and aptitude to develop and understand other software tools.
- Ability to travel as required up to 30%.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Directs staff and all activities related to the procurement, distribution and marketing of fuels in Central Canada. Primary liaison for all branded and unbranded supply relationships including administration of contracts. Supports environmental department on compliance and training matters. The Fuel Director supports the company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service, work efficiency and growing the brand. The Fuel Director role will also include managing all forecourt, car wash and eMobility business goals and objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Accountable for establishing and achieving fuel margin plan targets, grow the customer base and develop pricing strategies.
- Oversees retail pricing strategies and execution to insure a consistent and disciplined application of prices at site/product level.
- Manages the successful execution and performance of all brand standards and overall customer experience in the forecourt, car wash and eMobility categories.
- Maintains highest speed to market obtainable and manages execution as market may demand.
- Develops & manages all fuel strategies (site, market, product, brand & division) including supply relationships, Circle K’s Gas and major brand marketing and loyalty programs.
- Oversees the execution of annual Car Wash category business plans including category specific roles, strategies and tactics as well as overall marketing goals and objectives.
- Manages strategy on a site by site basis to ensure that individual and overall price position and division, product & brand strategies are aligned.
- Ensures on a daily basis that each site is priced for its optimal performance.
- Hires, develops and trains fuel team to advance internally and fosters a learning environment with high performance expectations.
- Coordinates fuels objectives with other department initiatives to optimize performance of fuel sites.
- Requires an ability to multi-task and complete duties in a timely manner.
- Anticipates opportunities to guide pricing and market strategies to increase fuel margin daily.
- Controls Fuel Department costs to budgeted levels.
- Recommends capital improvements to improve fuels contribution to store profitability.
- Develops, implements and oversees initiatives related to payment systems including fleet card sales and administration.
- Responsible for day-to-day supply management.
- Manage SIR program.
