JOB DESCRIPTION: BOOKKEEPER (VACATION RENTAL COMPANY)
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations for our vacation rental company. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in reconciling accounts, trust accounting using Track software (or similar platforms), managing Accounts Payable processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to contribute to strategic financial planning to support our company’s growth and profitability.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven work experience as a Finance Manager, Controller, or similar role in the hospitality or property management industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Track) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of trust accounting principles and practices specific to vacation rental management.
- Experience with 401K administration and compliance is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the vacation rental company.
- Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure data integrity in accounting systems.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
- Coordinate with property owners and managers to ensure accurate and timely processing of rental income and payments.
- Utilize Track (or similar software) for trust accounting, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting to support business planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial management.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management for improving financial performance and efficiency.
