Description:

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper in Oakland, California. In this role, you will handle a variety of financial tasks, including processing payroll, managing accounts receivable, and assisting with month-end close procedures. You will also be responsible for preparing quarterly reports and collaborating with the CPA for tax purposes. Your work will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial transparency and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the weekly processing of payroll for employees using Paychex, verifying timecards, and inputting data
  • Support month-end close procedures by adjusting journal entries as needed, reviewing weekly sales and office reports, and reporting hours to the trust fund
  • Handle accounts receivable functions such as counting cash and recording transactions in Excel
  • Prepare quarterly reports for sales tax and monitor cash flow
  • Collaborate with the CPA for tax purposes and assist in audits with the union and insurance company
  • Assist with refunds as required by the cashier
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems to maintain accurate records and perform accounting functions
  • Participate in various business-related tasks as needed to support overall company operations
  • Contribute to annual budget planning and perform cash flow analysis.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with Computerized Accounting System
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of Accounting Functions
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Ability to prepare and analyze Annual Budget
  • Capable of performing Cash Flow Analysis
  • Experience with Paychex Payroll
  • Knowledge of retail accounting processes
